Composite of a spotted baby doe sharing a tender moment with a large antlered white trailed buck in full velvet.
Background:
I've been going out every morning for about an hour shooting baby deer while they still have their spots. I was surprised to see the bucks interacting with a fawn. I just assumed their role in parenting ended months ago during the rut. It's nice to see I was wrong. It's still momma who does everything in the feeding, raising and teaching, but the men make an appearance and spend time with the little ones.

Although I enjoy night photography, my true love is hiking in the woods and being around wildlife. I feel blessed living near a wildlife management area.
