Photo of an impressive, mature, 10 point, bull elk trying to impress his lady, a cow in season. He even dressed to impress with a purple flower hanging from his antler, but the cow just walks by and doesn't even give him a glance. Just blows him off. Much like real life.
Guess he should have brought a box of chocolates with the flowers. Or perhaps she is a dinner and movie kind of gal. :) Poor guy. These girls really make him jump through hoops before he is rewarded for his efforts. Does this sound familiar guys?
Opportunities like these don't come around every day. Capturing this series was an absolute thrill for me and one I won't soon forget.
Addendum:
After several research attempts, the purple flower is actually a Missouri native weed called Joe Pye Weed. Joe Pye was a native medicine man and used the weed to cure typhus, kidney stones and urinary tract complications. So it sounds like it fights bacteria. Interesting tid bit.
