This photo was taken during rut season. The cow elk turned her head in response to the bull elk's bugle as he walked towards her. I seem to recall it had rained earlier that morning and a soft light was breaking thru the trees.
Although I enjoy night photography, my true love is hiking in the woods and being around wildlife. I feel blessed living near a wildlife management area. It gives me an opportunity to get close up shots of the animals. Here are some of my favorites. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I did taking them.
